Stefan's review of the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremonies
If you are looking for a family friendly celebration, look no further than the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
This opening ceremony has everything.
There’s boats full of athletes waiving their flags. There’s a mysterious cloaked figure who carries a torch..and a secret. What’s this in the library? It’s a threesome with the 1978 cast of Godspell. There’s a robot horse that walks on water.
You can also enjoy a bacchanal with an underdressed Papa Smurf who may show you his smurfberries.
Outside, you can see people doing tall Gerald Fords - that's that thing where people walk on stilts while pretending to fall down. There’s also the singing severed head of Marie Antoinette accompanied by the band that played on the front of the cars in Mad Max: Fury Road. At the Louvre paintings come to life and end up in the Seine.
Celine Dione performs on the Eiffel Tower; and there’s a tribute to the Montgolfier brothers featuring a burning ring of fire ignited by French handball players.
It's wild!
